GROW ZAMBIA FROM THE GROUND UP

Mutale says HH Mpaka 2031 Alliance will take its message to communities while pushing jobs, farming and business opportunities

Lusaka, Zambia24 — 24-09-2026 — The HH Mpaka 2031 People’s Alliance says it will take the Grow Zambia message to the people, starting from the grassroots.

Newly appointed Alliance Chairperson Fabian C. Mutale says the movement will not confine its activities to Lusaka but will reach districts, wards and villages across the country.

Mr Mutale says the Alliance wants to hear directly from ordinary Zambians about their hopes, struggles and what they want to see change in their communities.

He says the Alliance will hold meetings in markets, bus stations and farming communities as it takes its message to the people.

“We want to take the Alliance to the ground. Not just Lusaka, but to every district, every ward and every village,” Mr Mutale says.

He says the Alliance's message is simple — “Grow Zambia from the Ground Up” — with emphasis on jobs, business, farming and making better use of the country's natural resources.

Mr Mutale says young people and women must be given a bigger chance to earn a living and build businesses.

He says the Alliance will push for Youth Production Hubs in all 10 provinces, a Women in Business Fund linked to CDF and a Skills-to-Market programme.

Mr Mutale says there is little benefit in young people getting certificates if they cannot find somewhere to use their skills.

“We must make sure that our young people do not only have certificates, but have opportunities,” he says.

On farming, Mr Mutale says Zambia has the land and resources to feed itself and should stop depending heavily on other countries for what can be produced locally.

He says irrigation farming and processing of Zambia's minerals should be given greater attention.

Mr Mutale says copper, lithium and manganese should not simply leave the country as raw materials when more value can be created locally.

He also proposes a “One District, One Industry” approach to give people opportunities to work and do business closer to home.

Mr Mutale says the Alliance will also promote peace and unity and has invited Zambians from different political backgrounds to join its activities.

He says the country has had enough of politics that divides people and that the Alliance wants to encourage a spirit of One Zambia, One Nation.

The Alliance plans to begin provincial launch tours and publish its Grow Zambia Blueprint.

Mr Mutale says a convention for youths, women and differently abled persons will also be held.

He paid tribute to the late founding chairperson, Kevin Soper, saying he had left behind big shoes to fill.

“I am stepping into huge shoes left by Mr Soper and I will ensure that my feet grow big and fit,” Mr Mutale says.

Mr Mutale says taking over the chairmanship is not about enjoying a position but accepting the responsibility to serve.

“This is not a personal honour — it is a call to serve Zambia,” he says.

He also appealed to the media to help keep Zambians informed about the Alliance's activities.

Mr Mutale thanked General Secretary Bill Kaping’a and other members of the Alliance for giving him the responsibility.

“Let us grow Zambia — together — from the ground up,” he says.
