Six Firms Lift Zambia’s Profile



Regional awards boost country’s industrial reputation

Lusaka, Zambia24  --- (27-03-2026) --- The (ZABS) says six local companies have lifted Zambia’s profile after scooping top honours at the held in .

The awards, organised by the (SADC), recognise organisations and individuals advancing quality systems and processes in line with regional and international best practices.

The recognition follows the companies’ strong performance at the Zambia National Quality Awards hosted by ZABS in November last year.

The award-winning companies include , which won Company of the Year in the Large Enterprise category, and Soyalicious Instant Porridge by , which scooped Product of the Year in the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) category.

Also recognised was D’Iite Baby Cereal by , named first runner-up for Product of the Year in the Large Enterprise category. The secured first runner-up in the SME Service of the Year category.

Meanwhile, was named first runner-up for Exporter of the Year in the Large Enterprise category, while received recognition in the SME Exporter of the Year category.

Speaking in Johannesburg when he met representatives of the winning companies, ZABS Executive Director congratulated the firms, describing the awards as a reflection of strong commitment to quality.

“These awards speak to the diligent implementation of standards and strong quality assurance practices by our companies. They are flying Zambia’s flag high and showing that we can compete at the highest level,” he said.

Mr Sing’ambwa said the achievement underscores the importance of placing quality at the centre of business operations to unlock regional and international opportunities.

He added that the success reflects Zambia’s deliberate efforts to strengthen a culture of quality through standardisation, testing, certification and training.

“By aligning with SADC and international benchmarks, these companies are not only improving their performance but also contributing to economic growth and building consumer confidence,” he said.

The SADC Quality Awards were established in 2009 by the SADC Committee of Ministers of Trade to encourage institutions to adopt international standards in their operations.

The latest recognition underscores Zambia’s continued commitment to promoting quality assurance and safety as part of efforts to build a competitive and resilient industrial sector.
