Zambia is set to host the 97th Agricultural and Commercial Show from July 30 to August 4, 2025, in Lusaka, amid significant developments in agriculture, climate adaptation, and trade since the last event in 2024.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka on Thursday, Agricultural and Commercial Show Society of Zambia (ACSZ) President Dr. Bernard H. Moonga said the 2025 edition—under the theme “Adapting to Climate Change”—will focus on showcasing climate-smart innovations, private sector growth, and Zambia’s emerging role in regional and global trade.

Dr. Moonga revealed that 24 countries, including China, Tanzania, India, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and the Czech Republic, have confirmed participation.

“This is more than just an exhibition. It is an economic platform that reflects Zambia’s resilience, its growing innovation capacity, and its readiness to adapt to climate change,” Dr. Moonga said.

President Hakainde Hichilema, who is the Patron of the Show Society, is expected to officiate at the main opening ceremony on August 2, alongside a visiting Head of State.

Vice President Mutale Nalumango is expected to officiate during the business segment on the third day.

The six-day event will dedicate the first three days to business-to-business engagements and policy dialogues, with several forums hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry. Topics will include trade policy, regional integration, and industrialization.

New features this year include an expanded Green Pavilion focused on renewable energy and environmental sustainability, additional electronic ticketing gates to ease entry, and electronic judging in some categories to enhance transparency.

A stakeholder cocktail reception is scheduled for July 31, while a health walk and public awareness march will be held on July 26 ahead of the exhibition’s formal opening.

The 2024 show attracted over 220,000 visitors, 1,370 local exhibitors, and 22 international delegations. Organizers expect this year’s attendance to surpass previous records.

Platinum sponsors include the Zambia Revenue Authority, Barrick Lumwana, Stanbic Bank, and First Quantum Minerals.

Gold sponsors include Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank (ZICB) and the Zambia Chinese Association.

The event will close on August 4 with the annual Farmers’ Day Cross Country Golf Tournament at the Lusaka Golf Club, expected to draw more than 100 participants.

Dr. Moonga urged the public and stakeholders to support the show, which he described as a key contributor to the national economy through trade, tourism, and investment promotion.
