TopStar Zambia has launched a captivating new documentary series titled A Glimpse of China in the New Era, designed to strengthen cultural connections and inspire audiences with stories of innovation and collaboration.

The series, airing throughout December, is available on the ST Zone and ST Novela E channels, as well as the StarTimes ON streaming app.

Speaking at the launch event in Lusaka on Wednesday, TopStar Communications Company Limited Chief Executive Officer John Zhuang, represented by Public Relations Manager Joy Chula, expressed the company’s commitment to showcasing cultural diversity through innovative broadcasting.

“This documentary series is a gateway to understanding the beauty of cultural exchange,” Chula said, quoting Zhuang. “We are dedicated to ensuring that viewers can access such rich and inspiring content on multiple platforms, whether online or offline.”

Zhuang further emphasized that the series serves as an educational journey, encouraging dialogue and fostering cultural partnerships between Africa and China.

“This series highlights stories that resonate across borders. It’s about people coming together, learning from one another, and celebrating shared values,” he said.

The documentary shines a spotlight on success stories of African and international individuals—including artists, entrepreneurs, and environmentalists—who have made remarkable achievements in modern China. Each episode delves into their experiences, showcasing the transformative power of cultural exchange, innovation, and personal growth.

“Viewers will see how collaboration between cultures creates extraordinary opportunities,” Chula added. “These stories are not just inspirational; they are a call to action for deeper engagement and understanding.”

In addition to the documentary, TopStar is organizing offline activities and events in major Zambian cities. These initiatives aim to promote cultural appreciation and dialogue while fostering meaningful connections within communities.

“We are committed to bringing the world closer to our audiences,” Chula said.

“Through these events, we hope to deepen conversations around global cultures and provide insights that inspire.”

TopStar Zambia continues to be a leader in delivering diverse and enriching content. The documentary series is expected to enthrall viewers with its compelling storytelling and celebration of African and Chinese cultures.

As Zambia’s public signal distributor, TopStar serves over one million subscribers through a platform that includes 42 local television stations and more than 100 channels featuring local, African, and international programming.

The company’s vision, “To ensure that every Zambian family can access, afford, watch, and share the beauty of digital TV,” underpins its mission to bridge cultural divides and promote global understanding.
