In her acceptance speech, Katebe pledged to revitalize the women’s movement, focusing on restoring its vitality and influence.
“My vision is focused on renewing the strength of the movement.
The NGOCC has always been a pillar of support for women and organizations, and I am committed to restoring its dynamism,” she stated.
Katebe emphasized the importance of continuity in her approach, aligning her plans with the NGOCC’s ongoing strategies while introducing new initiatives to tackle emerging challenges.
She also noted that she had already worked with her predecessor to ensure a smooth transition and continued progress on key projects.
“We can rebuild the movement’s credibility and make it a leading force for gender equality,” Katebe added, urging all partners to unite and strengthen the impact of the NGOCC.
The AGM concluded with the new leadership reaffirming its commitment to advancing the NGOCC’s goals of promoting gender equality and empowering women across Zambia.
Established in 1985, the NGOCC unites over 100 member organizations in advocating for women’s rights and gender equity.
