Lusaka, Zambia24 (26 October 2024) — Ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) Matero aspirant candidate Evans Mukobela has continued to receive endorsements from various interest groups, including the church, which describes him as “God-sent” to uplift the people of Matero from their current challenges.
Bishop Bernard Kayembe of New Hope Church is the latest man of God to endorse Mukobela as the best candidate, following televangelist Dr. Nevers Mumba, who recently expressed his support for Mukobela’s candidacy.
When introducing Mukobela to the congregation, Bishop Kayembe said, “God has smiled on the people of Matero by raising one of their own to lead them.”
He justified this by highlighting Mukobela’s deep understanding of local issues, his commitment to serving the community, and his track record of addressing the needs of vulnerable populations.
He added, “What the Lord has granted, no one can revoke,” suggesting a divine endorsement of Mukobela’s campaign.
Bishop Kayembe urged the congregation and the wider Matero community to rally behind Mukobela, stating, “It has been written and ordained by the divine that Mukobela is destined to lead Matero.”
He called on the people to recognize the unique opportunity presented by Mukobela’s candidacy and to support him wholeheartedly.
“We must come together as a community to ensure that we embrace the leader God has chosen for us,” the bishop emphasized, stressing that such unity is essential for progress.
The bishop further encouraged those skeptical of Mukobela’s potential to reconsider, asserting, “This is not just about politics; it is about fulfilling a divine purpose.”
He reiterated that the support of the community would be vital in ensuring that Mukobela’s vision for Matero becomes a reality.
“Let us not miss the chance to uplift our constituency and bring about the change we desire,” he concluded.
In response to the growing endorsements, Mukobela expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received from various sectors of the community.
“I am truly humbled by the faith placed in me by the people of Matero, regardless of their affiliations,” he stated.
Mukobela acknowledged the collective effort of local leaders and community members, saying, “Every endorsement, whether from religious leaders or community groups, strengthens my resolve to work tirelessly for our constituency.”
Mukobela emphasized the importance of unity in his campaign, noting that “the challenges facing Matero require a collaborative approach.”
He stated, “I believe that together, we can create meaningful change. My vision for Matero is built on the voices and concerns of its residents.”
He pledged to remain accessible and responsive to the needs of all constituents, affirming that he will be a leader for everyone in the community.
Mukobela reiterated his commitment to serving the people of Matero, saying, “I promise to prioritize the interests of our community above all else.
With your support, I am confident that we can achieve a brighter future for Matero, where every voice is heard, and every resident feels valued.”
He further promised to implement community-driven initiatives aimed at improving local infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
“I will work closely with local leaders and stakeholders to ensure that the resources meant for our community are used effectively and transparently,” he said.
“Our children deserve quality education, and our health facilities must be equipped to serve our people better.”
Mukobela also assured the people of his dedication to creating job opportunities, especially for the youth.
“My administration will focus on empowering young people through vocational training and support for small businesses,” he declared.
“Together, we can cultivate an environment where everyone has the chance to thrive and contribute to the growth of Matero.”
