Zambian Talent Goes Continental
Regional broadcasters and creatives forge partnerships to expand Africa-wide opportunities for the creative industry

Lusaka, Zambia24 – Collaboration between Zambian creatives and regional broadcasters is being seen as key to expanding opportunities for local talent and strengthening the country’s creative industry through wider African exposure.
Recent partnerships between local creatives and regional broadcasters such as are creating new platforms for Zambian content to reach audiences beyond national borders.
National Association of Media Arts (NAMA) President Morgan Mbulo said such collaborations are helping Zambian actors, producers, and filmmakers gain visibility across Africa.
He said the future of the industry depends on stronger partnerships that allow local productions to be distributed and monetised regionally.
Mbulo also commended local creatives, including actor Monde Mutale, popularly known as Mr. Nguzu, for contributing to the growth of the industry.
AZAM TV Director Simon Botha said the broadcaster is committed to promoting African entertainment through a wide range of sports, movies, and lifestyle content.
He said the company is also working with local producers on projects such as Kete, which he described as a milestone in showcasing Zambian talent.
Botha said such collaborations reflect growing confidence in Zambia’s creative industry and are opening doors for more partnerships.
National Arts Council Vice Chairperson Tivo Shikapwasha said AZAM Media Zambia is helping build a creative ecosystem that supports jobs, skills development, and international exposure.
He said partnerships in the sector are essential for making the creative industry economically viable.
Actor Monde Mutale expressed optimism about increased cooperation between broadcasters and creatives, saying it is key to the industry’s growth.
