Lusska, Zambia24 --- (1-06-2026) -- The Zambia Institute of Procurement and Supply (ZIPS) has commissioned its 2026 Inspectorate Team to conduct a nationwide compliance exercise aimed at strengthening professional standards in the procurement and supply sector.
ZIPS President Fellow Daniel Kabamba commissioned the team after the successful completion of an induction and orientation programme for inspectors.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Kabamba said inspections were critical to ensuring compliance with the Zambia Institute of Procurement and Supply Act and maintaining professional standards within the sector.
He urged inspectors to carry out their duties with integrity, professionalism and impartiality.
The induction programme, facilitated by ZIPS Vice President Fellow Polite Hamaleka, equipped inspectors with the skills required to undertake compliance assessments across the country.
The inspection exercise will begin in Lusaka during the first week of June before moving to the Copperbelt Province on June 8 and later to other provinces.
ZIPS said the inspections are intended to promote ethical practice, strengthen professional regulation and ensure procurement functions are managed by qualified professionals.
The Institute also encouraged practitioners to comply with professional requirements ahead of the inspections.
“Please do your part by ensuring that you are compliant today so that you are not found wanting,” ZIPS said.
