Lusaka, Zambia24 -- (1/5/2026) --- Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA) has honoured 15 outstanding employees drawn from its Head Office, provincial offices and border posts in recognition of staff excellence and exemplary performance in service delivery during the 2026 Labour Day commemorations held in Lusaka.
According to a post published on the ZCSA official Facebook page, the recognition formed part of the Agency’s activities to mark the 2026 Labour Day commemorations under the theme “Securing Zambia’s Future Work: Protecting Jobs, Skills and Pensions for Decent Work for All.”
The initiative was aimed at promoting staff excellence, motivation and accountability within the institution.
ZCSA Executive Director, Gerald Chizinga, said the awards reflect management’s appreciation of the commitment shown by employees in carrying out the Agency’s mandate of ensuring compliance with compulsory standards and safeguarding the production of safe, reliable and quality goods and services.
He said recognising staff performance is important in strengthening a culture of excellence within the organisation.
Mr. Chizinga urged staff to embrace innovation and technological change, noting that the global working environment is evolving rapidly due to advances in technology, shifts in trade, and changing consumer expectations.
He said the Agency must remain responsive by continuously reviewing and updating standards to match industry developments. This, he said, is essential in maintaining relevance and ensuring effective regulation.
“The world is changing rapidly, and we must all adapt. At institutional level, our responsibility is to ensure we continue supporting this transformation by enhancing our skills and embracing new ways of working,” Mr. Chizinga said.
He added that while there are concerns about technology replacing jobs, the focus should be on reskilling and upskilling to secure the future of work.
He said ZCSA continues to support Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes to equip staff with relevant skills.
Mr. Chizinga said many employees have already benefited from CPD training, which has helped them adapt to new demands and maintain high standards of performance.
He reaffirmed management’s commitment to recognising employee contribution, noting that the Labour Awards are part of efforts to encourage productivity and dedication across the Agency.
