Lusaka, Zambia24 – Wonderful Group has pledged K500,000 as the anchor sponsor for the 2026 National Land Conference, (NLC) underlining its commitment to Zambia’s land governance and sustainable development while supporting the country’s efforts to unlock the value of land through inclusive partnerships.

Gift Sialubalo, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, welcomed the sponsorship, noting that the conference provides a platform for key stakeholders to address challenges in land administration.

The conference will bring together traditional leaders, community representatives, developers, government officials, and international stakeholders to propose solutions for sustainable land development,” Sialubalo said.

He praised Wonderful Group’s support as a “strong statement of commitment to Zambia, where land systems provide housing, drive economic growth, and generate employment.”

Speaking on behalf of Wonderful Group, Dan Museteka, Group Company Secretary, said the company is “proudly Zambian” and operates across manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, mining, support services, and infrastructure.

He emphasized that the company’s work focuses on creating jobs, supporting local industries, and investing in sectors critical to national development.

“Everything we do stems from a strong belief in Zambia’s potential. With the right partners, policies, and investments, this country can achieve sustainable growth that benefits all its people,” Museteka said.

He described the sponsorship as more than a financial contribution, but a public affirmation of the company’s commitment to Zambia’s future.

Frank Mulenga, Group Chief Financial Officer, highlighted the strategic importance of land as Zambia’s “bedrock of economic identity.”

He said the company’s investments in land have enabled the construction of factories, communities, schools, hospitals, and other social infrastructure, while providing employment for youth and local experts.

“This is why we are proud to be the main sponsor of the 2026 National Land Conference. Our K500,000 sponsorship is a contribution toward Zambia’s land governance and development for years to come,” Mulenga said.

He commended the government for its commitment to land administration and utilization policies.

Nalukwi Muwindwa, President of the Zambia Institute of Estate Agents, praised Wonderful Group for their longstanding support to the sector.

She noted that real estate agents are often the first point of contact in land allocation, making their role critical to the success of development projects.

“The contribution from Wonderful Group reflects their commitment to our sector and the country’s growth. Their partnership will strengthen pre-conference activities, including tree-planting exercises at key institutions,” Muwindwa said.

Raphel Thole, Chairperson for the National Land Conference, also called on all stakeholders to actively participate in sustainable land management, describing it as a shared responsibility that benefits all Zambians.

He commended the government for providing an enabling environment for proper land administration and called on private companies and civil society to join efforts toward a better future.

The 2026 National Land Conference will take place in Livingstone from April 1–2, with pre-conference activities, including tree-planting exercises at local schools and hospitals, already underway.
