Ministry Principal Public Relations Officer Mwaka Ndawa said the suspension is an administrative measure intended to allow investigations to proceed without interference, adding that the Ministry is cooperating fully with the ACC. Jalandi is alleged to have solicited a K10,000 bribe from Chi-Metals Limited, a manganese processing plant, as an inducement to avoid possible sanctions from the Labour Commissioner’s office.
