SADC Honours SMTS Zambia for Outstanding SME Services

Lusaka, Zambia24 – (August 7, 2025) — Zambian-based Safety Management Training Services (SMTS) Zambia has clinched one of Southern Africa’s highest business honours — the 2025 SADC SME Service Provider of the Year Award — solidifying its position as a regional trailblazer in occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) excellence.

The award was presented on July 31 in Antananarivo, Madagascar, during the SADC Industrialization Week, a premier annual gathering that celebrates industrial innovation and integration across the region.

SMTS stood out for its unmatched commitment to quality, innovation, and impact, earning top recognition among thousands of SME service providers in the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

“This is more than an award — it’s a clear signal that Zambian enterprises can compete and lead at the highest level,” said Judith Mwape, Head of PR and Marketing at SMTS Zambia. “It proves that when safety meets quality and vision, there are no limits.”

The accolade follows SMTS Zambia’s victory at the 2024 Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) National Quality Awards, where it was named the nation’s Best Service Provider of the Year. That national win qualified the company to represent Zambia on the SADC stage — a challenge it embraced with distinction.

SMTS was recognised not only for delivering world-class HSE training and consultancy, but also for being a driving force in building a culture of safety across industries in Zambia and beyond. 

Its services are rooted in global standards, practical innovation, and a mission to transform lives by reducing workplace risks and empowering organisations.

Receiving the award in Madagascar, SMTS Group CEO and AfriSAFE President Ms. Hellen Mwamba dedicated the honour to every worker and business that shares the company’s commitment to safety and quality.
