Lusaka, Zambia— (12-03-2025) - United Party for National Development (UPND) Matero aspiring candidate Evans Mukobela has urged young people to cultivate discipline, embrace hard work, and take responsibility for shaping their future. Speaking in the lead-up to today’s Youth Day celebrations, he emphasized the importance of resilience and self-improvement in adapting to an ever-changing society.

As part of his commitment to youth empowerment, Mukobela donated five herds of cattle to be shared across all wards in Matero Constituency. He stressed that such contributions help create sustainable opportunities for young people, equipping them with resources to build a stable and productive future.

“Youths are the driving force behind any progressive nation. Their determination, discipline, and vision will dictate the course of our country’s development. As leaders, we have a duty to support and guide them because neglecting the youth today will create an uncertain tomorrow,” Mukobela stated.

He advised young people to steer clear of trouble and focus on personal growth, urging them to seize available opportunities for self-improvement. Mukobela also called on fellow leaders to prioritize youth welfare by implementing policies and programs that foster skill development and economic independence.

“The President is working tirelessly to ensure Zambia remains on a path of growth and stability. Our role at the grassroots level is to complement his efforts, ensuring his vision translates into tangible benefits for the people before pursuing our own political ambitions,” he wrote.

Mukobela, a former police officer and businessman, has built a reputation as a community-centered leader dedicated to grassroots development. His background in law enforcement instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and service, values he has carried into his political career. His transition into business further reinforced his belief in economic empowerment as a tool for community transformation.

Beyond his Youth Day gesture, Mukobela has been actively supporting various community groups. In honor of International Women’s Day, he donated K20,000 to local women, reinforcing his dedication to empowering different segments of society.

His hands-on approach has resonated with many Matero residents, who see his actions as a reflection of leadership rooted in service rather than rhetoric.

As today’s Youth Day celebrations unfold, Mukobela’s contribution is expected to make a meaningful impact. He assured constituents that, once elected, their lives would see significant improvements, promising a leadership that prioritizes development and community progress.

With the 2026 general elections on the horizon, Mukobela’s continued engagement sends a strong message—he is not merely making promises; he is actively demonstrating the kind of leadership he envisions.
