Prudential plans big for clientele

Lusaka - 20 - 05 - 22 - (Zambia24) - Prudential life Assurance has partnered with CAREPEAK Specialist Clinic to manage chronic diseases that the clients in the country.

Prudential Managing Director Kachiza Kwenda in the speech read on his behalf by Milimo Sikoobwe told journalists during the loch held at Grand Palace Hotel in Lusaka that the program is targeting all the 45 000 clients Prudential Life Assurance has across the country. 

Sikoobwe said the Prudential Life Assurance has always been eager to offer initiatives that provide solutions to clients.

One such initiative is to partner with CAREPEAK Specialist Clinic in Lusaka which has to suffer financial loss due to frequent hospital visits to seek redress associated with their chronic diseases on them.

He observed some challenges in managing clients who are exploited in hospitals in terms of being overcharged and given the conditions which are not only unbearable but also drain the resources.

He said Prudential Life Assurance is ready to partner with any stakeholders to support the clients in need of help.

He said the core mandate for Prudential Life Assurance is to provide a scheme that will address all financial challenges related to meeting medical costs.

He said Life Assurance will at all times endeavor to help clients reduce frequent hospital visits to avoid being overcharged.

And speaking at the same function CAREPEAK Managing director Aaron Mujajati observed that the world today is facing challenges with health care services and patients have no choice but to shoulder hospital costs.

Mujajati named some of the life-long chronic diseases his clinic will be managing for and on behalf of Prudential Life Assurance as Blood Pressure (BP), Diabetes, HIV, and Tuberculosis (TB) which will require people to receive medication for the rest of the life.

Mujajati disclosed that the people that have these conditions and are stable should not be visiting the hospital frequently.

He observed that hospitals are high-risk areas, especially during periods when the whole world is faced with the COVID-19 pandemic would compromise the health systems.

He suggested that people with these problems which sometimes are referred to as underlying conditions would suffer sadden death if not properly managed.

He expressed the need for the people faced with such sensitive underlying conditions to avoid frequent hospital visits for consultations where they will end up being overcharged.

With the coming in of Prudential Life Assurance in the life of CAREPEAK Specialist Clinic, Mujajati explained, there will be fixed costs that will be required to be attained, and all people that will seek medical attention will be attended to by specialists

Currently, there is one specialist center that attends to patients with chronic diseases. Depending on how the demands will be, the extension will be made.

He said the perfect opportunity for people with underlying ailments to avoid frequent hospital visits is to acquire the Prudential Life Assurance scheme and access the services from CAREPEAK Specialist Clinic.

Under this scheme, Mujajati CAREPEAK Specialist Clinic will provide quality services in terms of home and office visitation of the clients for all the registered clients with Prudential Life Assurance.
